Live Webinar:
Understanding PPS & RUG-IV:
Providing Optimal Patient Care

Presented by - Lisa Jenkins, MPT, BBA, CHC

Friday – November 12, 2010 | 1:00-3:00 PM EST

Transitioning from a hospital setting to a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility presents many challenges for you and your patients. Understanding current Prospective Payment System (PPS) and Resource Utilization Group Version Four (RUG-IV) classification guidelines is essential for determining their needs and providing optimal patient care and outcomes.

An In-depth Look at PPS
and RUG-IV

Join licensed physical therapist and Clinical Resource Services founder Lisa Jenkins as she presents a detailed explanation of all aspects of PPS and RUG-IV in skilled nursing and rehab facilities and examines successful strategies for improving patient care—including key PPS terminology, the eight major RUG-IV categories, and how reimbursement is calculated in the SNF using the MDS and RAI assessment tools.

How will Recent Changes Impact Your Facility?

Administrators will learn how changes to ADL index calculation and therapy minute calculation will impact their facilities, as well as how new MDS coding instructions will promote accuracy and enhance reimbursement. Therapists will better understand how to define the type of therapy provided as well as how to correctly calculate and document therapy minutes. The webinar will also offer valuable tips for enhancing efficiency techniques for facility systems analysis, scheduling, staff meetings and treatment location
