8-Hour Package 
for New HCSSA Administrators/Alternates

This course package meets the training requirements as outlined in Ch. 97.259 c of The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for Administrators and Alternate Administrators. This course package satisfies the 8 clock hours of training that must be obtained prior to designation as an Administrator/Alternate in the State of Texas.

  • This package includes the following courses:
  • HCSSA Licensing Rules - 4 hours
  • Background Investigations & Rights of the Elderly - 1 hour
  • Personnel Administration - 2 hours
  • Regulatory Compliance in Healthcare Marketing - 1 hour
 

12-Hour Package
Annual Requirements HCSSA Administrators/Alternates

This course package meets the training requirements as outlined in Ch. 97.259 of The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for Administrators and Alternate Administrators appointed prior to 12/1/06 in the state of Texas. This course offers 12 clock hours of training that must be obtained within 12 months of designation and annually per the regulations thereafter.

This package includes the following courses:
  • HCSSA Licensing Rules - 4 hours
  • Background Investigations & Rights of the Elderly - 1 hour
  • Personnel Administration - 2 hours
  • Regulatory Compliance in Healthcare Marketing - 1 hour

for New HCSSA Administrators/Alternates

This package meets additional 16 clock hours of educational training that a first-time administrator and alternate administrator must to complete before the end of the first 12 months after designation to the position as outlined in in Ch. 97.259 d of The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS).

This pacakage includes the following courses:

  • Abuse and Neglect of the Elderly© (4 hours)
  • Disaster Preparedness (3 hours)
  • End of Life Series: Nutrition in the Terminally Ill (1 hour)
  • End of Life Care: Attitudes, Choices and Diversity (2 hours)
