New Series Spotlights Long Term & Post-acute Care

Each year in January the President presents to Congress the State of the Union address, and among the most important topics discussed is the status of our nation’s healthcare system. This year, with the healthcare reform debate in full swing and Americans eagerly awaiting the outcome of proposed policy changes, two industry leaders came together to provide one of the most comprehensive educational resources focusing on the long term and post-acute care industry.

The American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) recently released the State of Long Term and Post-Acute Care, a 6-part informational series whose introduction coincided with the 2011 State of the Union address and which features “national highlights in the areas of long term and post-acute care, including the state of quality, work force, post-acute care, assisted living, economic indicators and reimbursement”.

Utilizing the power of social media and interactive online education, the State of Long Term and Post-Acute Care is a compilation of “fact sheets and blog posts” focusing on topics that affect caregivers and industry professionals—as well as those in their care. Each installment in the series addresses a specific trend or topic and spotlights the growing healthcare needs of millions of Americans.
