Hospice care provider to offer summer workshops
- Thu, Jun 07

Caregivers who work in hospice settings and wish to enhance their skill set may want to consider what types of learning options are available to them, such as nursing continuing education courses. Something else they should always be on the lookout for are educational events in their local area.

For instance, Pathways, a California-based healthcare provider, will host its Pathways 2012 Summer Grief Workshop Series. There will be 10 workshops in total on a variety of topics.

On June 12, Pathways will host its Self Exploration through Imagery workshop at its offices in Sunnyvale, California. During this one-hour session, the hospice provider’s bereavement staff will help attendees see themselves in a new light. They will also explore their grief through the use of visual images.

The rest of the summer series will cover such topics as mediation, silent writing and healing drum rhythms. Those who plan on attending any one of the workshops must register ahead of time.

While these sessions are designed for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, nurses who attend one or more of the workshops may be able to pick up helpful knowledge they can use while working with their patients’ family members.
